Eucharist 101
Here is a humorous but accurate video reminding us how to receive Holy Communion with reverence and in the proper manner. This is a good topic to review as we continue to reflect on the great treasure of the Eucharist in the 6th chapter of John's Gospel for the next few weeks.

Jesus Gives us the Holy Eucharist
"While they were eating, He took bread said the blessing, broke it, and gave it to them and said, "Take it, this is my Body." Then he took a cup, gave thanks, and gave it to them, and they all drank from it. He said to them,"This is My blood of the covenant which will be shed for many."~Mark 14:22-24
THE SACRAMENT OF THE HOLY EUCHARIST
The Holy Eucharist completes Christian initiation and is the consumation of our faith of Christ's Holy Union with us and we with Him and His Church.
Those who have been raised to the dignity of the royal priesthood by Baptism and configured more deeply to Christ by Confirmation participate with the whole community in the Lord's own sacrifice by means of the Eucharist.
"At the Last Supper, on the night he was betrayed, our Savior instituted the Eucharistic sacrifice of his Body and Blood. This he did in order to perpetuate the sacrifice of the cross throughout the ages until he should come again, and so to entrust to his beloved Spouse, the Church, a memorial of his death and resurrection: a sacrament of love, a sign of unity, a bond of charity, a Paschal banquet in which Christ is consumed, the mind is filled with grace, and a pledge of future glory is given to us."
